Vacqueras
Vacqueras is an Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) for red wine produced in the southern Rhône region of France. The AOC is located around the town of Vacqueyras in the Vaucluse department and the wines are made from a blend of grape varieties, with Grenache being the dominant variety, and also including Mourvèdre and Syrah. The wines are known for their rich, full-bodied and powerful character, with a high tannin content and good ageing potential. The area under cultivation is around 600 hectares and it is one of the smaller AOC in the Southern Rhône region.
