Lirac
Lirac is a wine-growing region located in the southern part of the Rhône Valley in France. The wines produced in this region are primarily red wines made from the grape varieties Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Cinsault and white wines made from Clairette, Grenache Blanc and Bourboulenc.
The region is known for its warm and sunny climate which allows for a long ripening period of the grapes, providing the wines with good acidity and rich, full-bodied, and robust flavours with an emphasis on dark fruit and spice notes for the reds and floral and citrus notes for the whites.
The Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) of Lirac was established in 1948 and it is located on the right bank of the Rhône river, across from the famous Châteauneuf-du-Pape Appellation.
