Hautes Cotes de Beaune
The Hautes Côtes de Beaune is a wine-growing region located in the Burgundy region of France. The wines produced in this region are primarily white wines made from the grape variety Chardonnay and red wines made from Pinot Noir. The Hautes Côtes de Beaune is the higher elevation part of the Côtes de Beaune subregion and is known for its cool climate, which allows for a long ripening period of the grapes and provides the wines with good acidity. The wines from this region are typically light-bodied and have flavours of citrus, green apple and white flowers for the whites and red fruits, and a hint of spice for the reds. The Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée (AOC) of Hautes Côtes de Beaune was established in 1936.
