Côtes du Ventoux is an AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée) wine region located in the southern Rhône valley in France.
The region is known for producing red and rosé wines. The red wines are made primarily from Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre, with other grape varieties such as Carignan and Cinsault also being used.
The wines are typically characterized by their full-bodied, rich and complex flavours and aromas, with notes of dark fruit, spices, and herbs. The Côtes du Ventoux AOC was established in 1990 and it covers around 5,500 hectares of vineyards.
The region is named after the Mont Ventoux, a mountain that sits in the background of the vineyards and it’s known for its unique terroir which gives the wines a specific character.
